Our history

The Evangelical Mennonite Church of Pfastatt is an evangelical Protestant church. She belongs to the Mennonite movement. Mennonite churches emerged with Luther's Reformation in the early 16th century.

The refusal to endorse the religion of the local prince, the refusal to carry the weapon, exposed them to many persecutions and they took refuge in Holland, Germany and Switzerland.

SOME NUMBERS

At present, 80% of Protestants in the world are evangelical Protestants, that is 610 million people! (cf.  “the Protestants” by the sociologist of religions Sébastien Fath 2014 ).

Today Mennonites are spread over all continents. This spiritual family represents 2.13 million baptized believers in 86 countries.

OUR HISTORY

We have been in Pfastatt for almost 100 years. Our place of worship was built and opened in 1925.

Following growing needs, an annex was added to the existing one in 2021.
